14 years of school life, not a single leave: Kolkata girl secures 100 percent attendance

While many of us cannot think of going to work or to college every single working day for even a year, a Class 12 student hailing from Dumdum’s Auxilium Convent has not missed even one school day in 14 years.

Chandraja Guha has a 100 percent attendance from her nursery year, till date. She has made her parents and her school proud by winning several accolades for this feat.

Not only has she set an example to her friends and peers because of her incredible attendance streak, she also has a great academic record and has never gotten marks below 90 percent.

The education minister of West Bengal, Partha Chatterjee invited Chandraja to Bikash Bhavan, after the news of her feat was reported in Ei Samay. She received gifts and certificates from the minister, who promised her the government’s help in future.

According to media reports, Chandraja’s teacher, Amrita Chatterjee claimed that the cause for the unblemished attendance record was because the Class 12 student “loves her school too much.” She added that her example should be noted by other students.

Her parents Dolly Guha and Kshiti Ranjan Guha also credited the achievement to their daughter only.
