2 IDPs killed by firing of Security Forces in Bannu

PESHAWAR: Two IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) have been shot dead as security forces opened fire while dealing a minor issue in Baka Khel Camp, Bannu.

The incident occurred on Sunday but mainstream electronic media did not give it space in the news and majority came to know about it through micro blogging website twitter.

Some of the IDPs were protesting against the lack of drinking water and wanted to go outside seeking permission, but they were denied as they are not allowed to move outside the camp due to restriction.

The situation turned into a verbal quarrel and then physical fight upon which security forces of Pakistan opened fire that in result, killed two persons and leaving a few injured.

ISPR has given no response on this matter neither in confirmation nor in denial.

Military operation Zarb-e-Azb is underway in North Waziristan since June 2014, and around 3500 families are moved to Bannu and living in IDPs camps.
