Natasha Kamal, who is a trendsetter and has established her footholds in Lahore, is now going to display her offerings at the Fashion Pakistan Lounge (FPL) in Karachi. She was saying before the launch that it was slated to take place Friday evening; she revealed details of her modified designs, made for the courageous and investigational fashionistas of Karachi.
“FPL has a very good footfall from Karachi alone and I felt this is going to be a good place to begin from,” she stated regarding selecting to the collection at the multi-designer store. Prior this year, she started to house her pieces at FPL in Lahore.
She got motivations from the ageless designs of Sana Safinaz and Élan on the local front; she possesses a great fondness for their elaborate designs, light embroidery and prints. Testing with a varied of hue palette is a big element of Kamal’s visuals. She states as “When I design, my eyes are on colors, color-blocking and light detailing. These are things I get most inspired by.”
She has a love for diversity and simplicity as she describes, “My style revolves around transitional pieces. They’re simple in design and suited for a smart-casual look.” She believes that in Pakistan and west there are diverse views for dressing up and she stated it as “There’s a concept of wearing a different pair of clothes for every occasion in Pakistan, which isn’t the case in Western countries.”
She wants to provide a feeling of synthesis to her dresses. She says “Devising the cuts and silhouettes have been the most challenging and interesting aspect of making an outfit,” she further stated, “There’s a fine line between making understated pieces and going overboard, but I enjoy experimenting with fusion apparel more than anything else.”
She said that at present people are much risk takers and bold in selecting chic dresses. She further added that “Our society has absolutely altered for the better, but one requires to identify that how to set the tone for one’s personal fashion,”
