A plan to introduce sixth team in 2018

A plan has been made to launch the sixth team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB). The second edition of PSL is probable to face confrontation from a bulk of the five franchises, who feel the board must fasten to its plan of launching the sixth group in 2018.

The contracts which are signed with the five franchises were summarized that a novel team would just be inserted later than thriving achievement of the initial two editions. The franchises anticipate the PCB to stay on its word. Up to now, just Peshawar Zalmi has exposed support for the addition.

The further four franchises are still silent regarding it. The officials of the further franchises sense that the supplement of one more team would indicate a small slice of the, in general, grossing tart for each side.

The verdict to involve a sixth team has calmed down a meeting that will be organized in the initial week of May amid the PSL Governing Council officials and franchise owners.

A franchise official has stated in an interview that “What we feel is that the PCB should stick to its promise of including the sixth team after two editions because the other five franchises have invested heavily in the league and they should get the chance to recover their money, if not earn a profit, before the sixth entrant,”

In contrast, PSL officials are certain that they would be capable of persuading a mass of the franchises to take on the sixth team as the entire finances have been restructured.

A PSL official told in an interview that “We believe that the sixth team will prove beneficial for the PSL and the increase in revenue would mean each franchise gets, even more, money even after it is shared six ways,”
