Aerials Pakistan’s first ever sci-fi film221 views
Aerials is the Pakistan’s first ever sci-fi film which is directed by UAE-born Pakistani filmmaker SA Zaidi.
Zaidi was stating in an interview and he disclosed that how the venture came into being. He told that “You keep seeing it in Hollywood films. That scene of the spaceship over New York or Los Angeles or London. People are bored of it. I have always wanted to give people a new visual perspective, a new iconic image,”
He further added that “There are so many stories to be told from this part of the world. And the science fiction genre is so new there are a lot of things to be explored,”
It is the 90 minutes horror film which is co-written by Zaidi and Emirati producer Ganem Ghubash. The film is based on a pair who wakes up one day to discover that aliens have blackout Dubai.
Zaidi continued that “It is not an alien invasion story. The aliens don’t attack or destroy the city. Their presence just brings about massive changes,”
He further continued by saying that “I know there are scenes showing the Burj Khalifa being destroyed and all. But we’ve also got spaceships flying over the UAE. You’ve never seen that before.”
The juvenile filmmaker disclosed that the low-budget production took approximately three years to accomplish. He further added that “People have been so good and supportive of the project and it’s only because of them that this has taken shape.”
Famous Emirati actor Mansour Al Feeli will attribute in a supporting role whereas the movie will have six lead characters.
The feature movie is shot crosswise Dubai on sights involving JLT, Shaikh Zayed Road, and the DIFC area.
Zaidi further continued that “We used Red Dragon cameras. The same kind that was used in the Hobbit films. And Leica Summilux-C lenses, which were used in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I also used a lot of my own personal equipment to help bring down the cost,”
Zaidi made his movie debut with a short motion picture named The Sons of two Suns in 2013.
Aerials is going to release crosswise UAE on 5 July.
