Afridi praises Wasim for exploring young talent



KARACHI: Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain Shahid Khan Afridi praised his former teammate Wasim Akram for exploring young talent for Greenshirts.

Pakistan’s most dynamic all-rounder Afridi said that while other former cricketers of Pakistan are looking forward to coach the national team, but they are not interested to explore the young talent in our nation as Wasim is doing. He further said that the King of the Swing is doing a very good and important job.

Talking about the new controversy raised in the cricketing circle of Pakistan, when in-form wicket-keeper/batsman Sarfraz Ahmad was dropped from the two match T20 series against Sri-Lanka. The analysts, critics and former players criticized the team management on the tour and because of this criticism chairman Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) M. Shahryar Khan and chief of the governing body Najam Sethi have summoned the tour report from the team management and explanation for dropping Sarfraz.


When the same question was asked to the T20 skipper Afridi, he replied that at the moment team is in a building process as we are looking forward to the T20 World Cup. So we are taking decisions keeping in mind of the mega event and preparing the team with different experiments.

Mr. Boom Boom also lashed out at the critics and said that according to him some people analyse and comment of cricket at media to raise controversies because they are narrow minded, we rested Sarfraz to experiment with other players.
