Akshay Kumar-Paresh Rawal to star in Priyardarshan’s next produced by Rohit Shetty

The trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Priyadarshan worked magic in numerous films such as ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Garam Masala’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ among others.

He has not directed any Hindi film after Jackky Bhagnani-starrer ‘Rangrezz’ released three years back.

Mumbai: The trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Priyadarshan worked magic in numerous films such as ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Garam Masala’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ among others. They had last come together in the film ‘De Dana Dan’ almost seven years back and now, they are all set to come together for a new film to be produced by Rohit Shetty.

Priyadarshan has not directed any Hindi film after the Jackky Bhagnani-starrer ‘Rangrezz’ released three years ago and is pleased to return. “The film is being written by me and Chennai Express writer Yunus. The actress is yet to be finalised. After three years of silence, I made Oppam (2016), which is the biggest hit of my career. Its success is so inspiring. It’s time to come to Bollywood again,” Priyadarshan told DNA.

Reportedly, Akshay will play a Punjabi character and the film will go on floors in April next year and will be shot in Mumbai and Punjab.

Suniel Shetty has also been one of Priyadarshan’s favourites and there were reports that a third part of ‘Hera Pheri’ is in the pipeline. While we don’t know if ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will actually happen or if Priyadarshan would make it, but it would be interesting to see if Suniel also joins the cast of this film.

Priyadarshan’s Profile:

Priyadarshan was born as Priyadarshan Nair. He is a director and writer, known forHungama (2003), Garam Masala (2005) and Hera Pheri (2000). He is married to Lizy. They have two children.

Actor Mohanlal, his college friend, urged him to get into movies.
Films were never his first choice – he used to play a lot of cricket, but an injury to his left eye where a ball hit him ended his hopes of a career in cricket.
Aside from Malayalam films, has also directed Hindi (Gardish and Muskurahat), Tamil (Gopura Vaasililae) and Telugu movies (Nirnayam).
Won the Kerala State Award for Best Director in 1995. He also directed Thenmavin Kombath (1994), which won for Best Film With Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value.
He met his wife, Malayalam actress Lizy, on the set of his second film. They have done 12 movies together, though she has quit acting now.
Was directing ABCL’s ” Dariya” Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Chandrachur Singh. The film got shelved.
Married since 13. December 1990 with Actress Lizy.
