Biopic on martyred PAF pilot Marium Mukhtiar’s trailer released


KARACHI: The makers of Ek Thi Marium, a biopic on martyred air force pilot Marium Mukhtiar who died in a crash, have released the movie’s first trailer and it looks like a winner.

The movie is directed by Sarmad Khoosat and written by Umera Ahmed with actress Sanam Baloch as the brave national hero, the first and only female air force pilot to have achieved martyrdom late last year.


Based on her life and struggles, it tells the tale of a patriotic girl who from her childhood has aspired to serve in the air force. Her passion wins her acceptance but she struggles; trying to adjust to the grueling training. All this while her mother’s voice guides her, telling her not to give up, preparing her for her ultimate martyrdom.


The movie seems to be a beautiful tribute and releases on Defence Day, 6th of September of this year.

He did it before, and he does it again; Sarmad Khoosat doesn’t fail to disappoint when it comes to his work, and Ek Thi Marium trailer is one such recent example.

The trailer follows the dreams of a Pakistani woman who wishes to become a pilot. In short snippets, the film portrays the hardships and struggles she faces along with doubts that come between her and her journey.

But she refuses to give up, her mother being her support during trying times.

Film Ek Thi Marium is based on the real-life story of Pakistan’s first female fighter pilot, Marium Mukhtar. It features Sanam Baloch as the lead actor.

The film is set for release on Defence Day, 6th September to honour the late female pilot.
