Bollywood’s response on banning Pakistani artists4,979 views
Since nationalist party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has said to Pakistani artists to leave Indian, the Pakistani artists are in trouble. It seems that Bollywood artists are not much speaking about the tension but now a few have spoken up.
Bollywood’s eminent actor Saif Ali Khan has extended his support to Pakistani artists in an interview and said that the decision is eventually up to the government.
The phantom actor told that “The world is open to our film industry and our film industry is open to talents from around the world especially cross-border. We are artists who talk about love and peace.”
He further shared that “The government has to decide these things. The government must make decisions about law and order and who is allowed and who isn’t,”
Varun Dhawan, who is the actor of Student of the Year, advocated Saif by saying that “If by banning actors, terrorism can be stopped then they should do it. That is something the government needs to decide first.”
Bollywood’s eminent director Karan Johar stated on the ban of Fawad Khan who is playing a small but integral role in his imminent film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, that exclusion of Pakistani actors was not the solution.
His words were as “If this was truly a solution, one would take it but it’s not. I don’t believe it is. The larger forces have to come together and sort the situation and this cannot be banning talent or art.”
Bollywood’s filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has as well the similar stance as KJo.
E endorsed KJo by saying “Karan Johar said a very good thing. If you want to send Fawad Khan back, send him, but what are the next five steps you’ll take? You tell me, what are the next five steps you will take after that?”
He raised the question regarding sending Pakistani artists back home. He asked “What problems will be solved after sending him? What will be your next step after sending him? At least tell us what your next five steps are.”
