A British passenger clicked a picture of himself with the hijacker of the EgyptAir plane. Needless to say, the picture went viral.

Hijackers are supposed to be scary, since they don’t think twice before killing their innocent captives if their demands aren’t met. However, a British passenger by the name of Benjamin Innes on-board  the EgyptAir plane, clicked a selfie with the hijacker of the aircraft.

“I’m not sure why I did it, I just threw caution to the wind while trying to stay cheerful in the face of adversity. I figured if his bomb was real I’d nothing lose anyway, so took a chance to get a closer look at it,” said the 26 year-old passenger, who had the cabin crew translate and subsequently take the picture.

“I could see something taped around his waist and he was holding on to some kind of a trigger. It was hard to be sure, but I reckoned it was more likely to be fake after I got a close look at it,” he said.

According to Benjamin Innes, he had informed his mother via a text message about the situation that was taking place. His mother warned him of doing something irrational to capture the attention of the hijacker.

“I didn’t know how to tell her I’d already done a selfie with the hijacker,” he said.

People on Twitter were quite amused by the bizarre picture and photoshopped Innes’ picture in a hilarious manner.
