Cinema Owners of India refuses to screen Pak-Actors390 views
Since the censor board has refused to cut off the Fawad Khan’s scenes, the Karan Johar’s upcoming flick Ae Dil Hai Mushkil seems in roadblocks.
Recently some reports have clarified the stance of Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) who has decided and stated on Friday that they will not screen films with Pakistani actors in India.
The two most awaited Bollywood movies will see the problem which is going to release after a few days. Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and King Khan’s Raees starring Mahira Khan will be in trouble.
Later than the meeting ended, COEAI president Nitin Datar told that “It was decided that keeping in mind the patriotic feelings and national interest, we have requested all member exhibitors to refrain from screening movies which have involvement of any Pakistani artiste, technician, director or music director.”
He continued by saying that “We are also in the process of requesting other associations connected with the film industry to support the sentiments in the best interest of our nation.”
Previously Hindu right wing extremist party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had threatened Pakistani artists to leave India. On the other hand, The Hindu has reported that this kind of stand has not been taken up until now to cancel visas of Pakistani artists.
A senior Home Ministry official has further stated that “There is no movement to revoke visas of Pakistani artists as of now. We don’t go for knee-jerk reactions,”
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a 2016 upcoming Indian Hindi romantic film written and directed by Karan Johar. It features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. It is scheduled for release on 28 October 2016 on the Diwali weekend.
