City starts EPL season 2015-16 with a 3-0 win over West Brom

LONDON: Manchester City won their opening game of the season 2015-16, with a 3-0 comprehensive win over West Bromwich Albion in an away game at The Hawthorns.

In a pre-match interview City manager Manuel Pellegrini backed his star midfielder Yaya Toure and said that former Barca-man will be back in his top-form this season, as he’s one of our most important and key player.

Pellegrini further said that the Ivory Coast skipper Yaya Toure struggled with his form in last season, he was surrounded by a couple of problems including the death of his brother and his agents.

The Chilean also said that according to him Yaya was not focusing on the game last season and he was criticized for that last. He’s kind of player that doesn’t deserves criticism because when he performs the team wins.

And that is what happened in the match against West Brom, when Yaya scored the opening goal of the game in the early 9th minute of the match. He doubled the lead of his club in the 24th minute of the game with a wonderful strike, assisted by his country-mate Wilfred Bony.

The third goal of the match which sealed the victory for Man City was scored by their skipper Vincent Kompany from a brilliant header of corner-kick from David Silva in the 59th minute of the game. City registered their first win of the season and look quite promising.

City showed and proved their dominance unlike the other title contenders Manchester United and Liverpool also registered their first victory of the season from their opening game, but they were not promising enough. While Chelsea and Arsenal still have to open their account in terms of winning the match.
