COAS meet BHC CJ, lawyers after Quetta blast


QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Monday arrived in Quetta following a terrorist attack at Civil Hospital in the city that killed at least 63 people.

According to DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa, the army chief offered condolences with Balochistan High Court (BHC) Chief Justice and panel of judges for all those who lost their lives.


General Raheel also visited Civil Hospital to enquired after health of injured persons. He will chair a meeting at Corps Headquarters Quetta, where he would take briefing about the incident.  

Earlier, Commander of the Southern Command Lt-Gen Amir Riaz also met the injured persons, who are under treatment, in the hospital.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri blamed Indian spy agency RAW for the incident.

Talking to Samaa, Zehri said that there are evidences that RAW is directly involved in the attack.

Announcing three-day mourning for the victims of the attack, the Balochistan CM said that the terrorists would be taken to task.

He said that he has convened a high-level meeting regarding law and order situation.

“No one attacks hospitals even in war, but the terrorists didn’t spare them,” he said, adding that under a planned conspiracy at first President of Balochistan Bar Association was gunned down after which a suicide attack was carried out on the mourners.
