CPEC to make Pakistan a trade hub of central Asia: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE: Federal Minster for Planning, Development & Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said on Friday that Pakistan was going to be a trade hub of central Asia through China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) in days to come.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Young Development Corps (YDC) here at Forman Christian College, he said that western media had also termed Pakistan as a “new success story”.

He said, so many projects had been launched which would change the history of Pakistan, adding that youths were also being taken onboard in the development of the country.

He said that no nation could make progress without continuity of policies and political stability.

Ahsan said the government was working under the Vision 2025 and providing opportunities to youth for planning development through YDC.

He said that political system and democracy were maturing and the nation also showed maturity on the occasion when a political party was on roads.

Introducing the YDC, the minister said that the aim of project was to involve youths and students in development and planning as the nation had lost a lot due to lack of planning and political stability, and as a result of which Pakistan was facing a lot of crises including energy, gas and infrastructure.

All political ruling parties have signed Vision 2025 to build a new Pakistan which could not be rolled back in any circumstances, he added. – APP
