Dhoom can be made without Jai Dixit and Ali

Indian movie actor, producer and playback singer who is best recognized for his work in Hindi films, Abhishek Bachchan thinks one role which is tremendously close to his heart, and it is that of ACP Jai Dixit from Dhoom. Considering it his initial ever commercial triumph in Bollywood, the actor thinks that he will never outgrow the role.

The 40-year-old actor stated that “I will never outgrow that role. It is too close to my heart. It was my first ever success. Based on that alone, I will do it (more roles) forever if they (Yash Raj Films) ask me to. It’s more of an emotion for me than anything else,” he was saying it in an interview with the Indian press.

Astonishingly, for someone who has been a part of all three instalments of the franchise, he considers that the subsequent Dhoom movie can be made devoid of him or the popular character he performed.

Elucidating his cause for thinking the similar, Abhishek stated that “Dhoom can be made without my character. A couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have agreed. However, the franchise has now established itself. The name itself is enough. You can always change the characters and get someone else to make the film,” told Abhishek. Though, he disclosed that he is not certain when the next part will roll out.

Sketching parallels with Housefull, Abhishek joked that “Housefull doesn’t have any common thread apart from the basic format that is running throughout the films.” The son of veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan further added that “The characters are never the same. Dhoom is established enough now. It can do without Jai Dixit and Ali (Uday Chopra).”
