Dia Mirza ventures with Iranian superstar



Indian model, actress, and producer, Dia Mirza, who won the Miss Asia Pacific 2000 title, has expressed her excitement in recent times regarding working on the big screen once more, later than a pause of four years. She is at present shooting for the Indo-Iranian movie titled Salaam Mumbai in opposite to Iranian superstar Mohammad Reza Golzar. She has further revealed that the movie will hit the screens in October this year.

She has primarily worked in Bollywood and is known in media for her social work further stated in an interview that “My first international Iranian film will be releasing in October and I am really looking forward to that. It was an extraordinary experience, working with an industry that I have deeply admired and looked up to,” Dia continued by saying that “The person starring with me in the film is Iran’s megastar and the kind of love that has been showering my way from Iran has been really extraordinary. It has been a wonderful ride.”

Dia is performing the role of a medical student in the movie, which has as well been filmed in Mumbai for a significant time. The movie is in three languages — Persian, English, and Hindi — and Gulzar had further shared that he was learning Hindi for the movie.

Dia, who as well holds the production house Born Free Entertainment with her husband and Love Breakups Zindagi director Sahil Sangha continued by adding, “I’m currently working on three films that we are producing.”

She further shared about her experience with Iranian star “The person starring with me in the film is Iran’s megastar and the kind of love that has been showering my way from Iran has been really really extraordinary. It has been a wonderful ride,”

She has as well made a project on television earlier this year with the show Ganga – The Soul of India, in which she travels around the sites and cultures around the Hindu holy river. When it was inquired that whether she has plans of characterizing in the second season of the show, her reply was that “Well, there has been a demand for it and it has been a beautiful narrative that has really engaged the audience and enriched people and motivated them.”

She further told “I would actually like to traverse civilizations that are influenced by different rivers. So why not the Brahmaputra?”

Dia was last seen in the Bengali movie “Paanch Adhyay”.
