Dogs show more affection than cats

Most of the people want to have pets at home. Some have love with birds and some have affection with cats and a lot of people possess dogs more for protection and safety. When it comes to showing affection, get a dog home as they score better than cats in showering love on their owners.

A new and interesting research study has revealed that your canine friend loves you five times more than its feline counterpart.

To conduct the research study, US neuroscientist Paul Zak took saliva samples from 10 cats and 10 dogs previous to a 10-minute playtime session with their owners, the study is a part of an imminent BBC documentary ‘Cats v. Dogs.’

After that the researcher took one more saliva sample from the entire of the participants later than their playtime encounter, examining it for the presence of oxytocin — the affection or attachment hormone.

Some previous research studies have exposed that when owners interrelate with dogs, they seem to release oxytocin.

The findings of the study revealed that a 57.2 per cent oxytocin enlarges in dogs, whereas just 12 percent enlarges of the hormone was discovered in cats.

Zak was cited as stating in a report that “I was really surprised to discover that dogs produced such high levels of oxytocin. The dog level of 57.2 per cent is a very powerful response,”

The name of the documentary is ‘Cats v. Dogs’ which is planned for the premiere on BBC on 4 February.
