England beat Afghanistan by 15 runs at World T20.


NEW DELHI: England beat a spirited Afghanistan by 15 runs at cricket’s World Twenty20 on Wednesday, with Moeen Ali sparing the team’s blushes after the top-order was skittled out in New Delhi.

A nervy England eventually reached 142 for seven after being reduced at one stage to 85 for seven before Ali hit an unbeaten 41.

Afghanistan then made 127 for nine in their 20 overs, a result which confirms their exit from the tournament.
