Ex DG ISI says Go Ahead to Probe Sit-in Allegations and Clear the air


RAWALPINDI: Former DG ISI Lt. General (r) Zaheerul Islam has privately said that whoever wants to investigate the allegations on ISI of supporting PTI’s sit-in of last year , must go ahead and do it.

Ex DG ISI said it to senior Anchor person of 92 News Asma Shirazi during Defense Day ceremony held at General Head Quarter (GHQ) Rawalpindi yesterday.

He said that Dharna allegations should be investigated so that the truth must prevail and air of ambiguity regarding ISI must get clear.

Mushahidullah BBCTwo sitting ministers Khawaja Asif & Mushahidullah Khan of PMLN had leveled serious allegations on Lt. General (r) Zaheerul Islam of supporting PTI/PAT sit-ins last year.

Mushahidullah in an interview to BBC, claimed that Lt. General (retd) Zaheer-ul-Islam not only wanted to topple PMLN’s government but also against the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.

Later on, he was forced to resign from his ministry as Govt officials and ISPR denied the story categorically.
