Zebunissa Bangash, the Pakistani singer has led her voice for Bollywood movie while she is not stranger for Bollywood.
The young singer has sung two songs for the imminent Katrina Kaif-Aditya Roy Kapur film Fitoor.
The initial song named Haminastu is a romantic Persian-Hindi song and has a fantastic Kashmiri touch to it, joined up absolutely with the Abhishek Kapoor directorial which has been shot in Kashmir.
Haminastu means “heaven on earth”. The lyrics of the song are obtained from a saying of a Mughal emperor for Kashmir: “If there is a heaven on earth, it is here, it is here.” The song stars with famous Farsi (Persian) verse by chronological poet Hazrat Amir Khusro: “Gar Firdous Ba-Roohe Zameen Ast. Haminastu, Haminastu”. (If there is a heaven on earth, it is here, it is here).
She has sung for Madras Cafe and Highway. The song is written by Swanand Kirkire, who has also worked for different movies for example Shamitabh, PK and Bobby Jasoos to his praise, and the music is composed by Amit Trivdei.
Zeb’s second offering, Hone De Batiyaan, is a duet with Nandini Srikar, who previously ruled hearts with her song Dua from Shanghai, among many others.
Zeb stated her experience as:
“I had met Amit Trivedi on my first trip to Mumbai in his studio in Juhu where we shared music with each other. We kept bumping into each other over the years and each time talked about working together. And then I met him again through Swanand and he was working on Fitoor. A few days later, I got a call from Amit’s sudio for ‘Haminustu’. I was thrilled to hear the song because it was such a powerful composition and one of Swanand’s finest pieces of writing, in my opinoin. I felt connected to it instantly. A few months later, I was approached for another beautiful song ‘Honay Do Batiyan’.”
