Goher, Anum romancing in imminent ‘Kathputli’1,166 views
Goher Mumtaz, Jal band’s front man, and his wife Anum Ahmed is the most favorite couple in Pakistani entertainment industry. Though his music has been much on the slower side and acting efforts of Goher have verified as the main lifeline for his career. His better half Anum also has yet determined to adhere him on screen and is going to make her acting debut while romancing Goher in the imminent drama serial, Kathputli.
Anum stated in an interview that she is performing the role of a determined girl in the drama who can do anything to achieve what she desires in life. The acting wasn’t her passion as she said, “I never intended to act in the first place. She further added, “I never intended to act. I had been offered projects such as Bin Roye and Kambakht when I was studying but I turned them down because I had not considered making a career in acting. I had different priorities at the time.” Though, it appears that all fell in place with Kathputli. She continued, “Fahim Burney is the director. The content, cast, production team are all top-of-the-line.”
Fahim Burney’s directorial would too be Goher’s acting debut, as Goher added, “It was Tanhai in 2012. He is great to work with and I learnt a lot from him,” he explained, “We didn’t want it [their screen appearance] to be tacky. We were waiting for a good project.”
The story of Kathputli revolves around the couple and how misunderstandings seeped into their relationship. “There are some very interesting scenes and we’ve tried to deliver,” he added.
Ignoring quires that propose she became into acting all for the reason that of her important other, Anum stated, “I was offered roles way before we were engaged and at the end of the day it’s me acting … it doesn’t matter how one gets there.” Anum wants to experiment with the roles and have the desire to work with experienced actors like Bushra Ansari and Samina Peerzada.
At present following a diploma in film-making, Anum has determined that acting will yet remain her initial preference. “I will be choosy with my roles because when you’re on TV all the time, people get sick of you.”
On the further side, Goher isn’t one for overstatements. “I’m not saying it’s a groundbreaking show or it will change societal perceptions but the plot is very interesting.” The drama is going to air in a month and cast includes Sanam Chaudhry and Farhan Malhi.
