Govt Starts phone tapping of 27 journalists


ISLAMABAD: A senior journalist of a renowned media group has revealed that government of Pakistan has started tapping phone calls and sms records of 27 journalists of the country.

According to the details, senior reporter of Daily Dunya Hasan Raza has claimed that currently 27 journalists falls in this list ‘A’ including Rauf Klasra, Kashif Abbasi, Imran Khan, Waseem Badami, Arshad Sharif, Nadeem Malik, Shahid Masood and Hassan Nisar whom phone calls are being recorded.

The source told that all this process is being carried out after government has given this access to tap someone’s phone records to police and Intelligence Agencies most probably Intelligence Bureau (IB).

Senior Investigative Journalist Rauf Klasra has tweeted that it is being done on orders of PM Nawaz Sharif o trace sources of news of journalists to stop scams.  He also wrote that journalist have faced this type of harassment in the past to do their work.
