Harry Potter’s Afshan Azad wants Snapchat filter for Eid

Hollywood film Harry Potter famed actress Afshan Azad, who played Padma Patil, wants Snapchat to make an Eid filter for its users in the United Kingdom.

July 6 marked the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramazan in the UK and also across the world and the young Muslims missed something really important for their social communication this year.

Afshan Azad like many of the young Muslims was not so happy because the app had no special Eid filter.

“There’s something special about Eid,” Afshan said and added, “I think it unites us all if we have that Snapchat filter that says ‘Eid Mubarak’.

“It shows us that Snapchat, and the world recognises that it’s Eid – and it gives us some unity all together,” argued the Harry Potter actress.

Afshan was very straight forward to say that social app requires getting its priorities set.

“I’m sure if it was Christmas there would be a ‘Happy Christmas’ filter,” laments Afshan Azad.

“It’s Eid today – it’s the one day we celebrate. Snapchat, sort it out! We need a filter!”

“As Muslims, we get a lot of negative press, and having Eid is a celebration of who we are and the month that’s just gone by.

“It’s a happy day – and a Snapchat filter would just be nice.”

Not only Afshan Azad, many young Muslims who are frequent users of the social app shared the same views.

What about you Snapchat!
