MUMBAI : Happy Birthday Wishes to Bollywood’s yesteryear actress, the hauntingly beautiful Saira Banu, who turned 71 today.
11951246_765799160195255_7536248461209625665_nMarried to veteran actor Dilip Kumar, Saira has had a prolific career in the 60s and 70s and is known as one of the most beautiful actors of her time.
She was rightly called the Venus of the East. What a charm she had when was young, she was dynamic, vibrant on silver screen with her roles in Padosan, Junglee which is her debut opposite to Shammi Sahab, Jhuk Gaya Aasman, Shagird and Purab Aur Paschim. Truly what movies she gave. She was a boon for the colour camera as her perfect contours and alabaster complexion coalesced to make each frame picture perfect! We really miss her as an actress as she has been detached from silver screen. Doesn’t even give it a thought to make a comeback.

Whether you talk about Ek Duuje Ke Liye or Mughal-e-Azam, the essence of eternal love has always been depicted with all its vibrant charm, tinged with sadness of estrangement in Bollywood films. While Bollywood flicks maybe bubbling with the emotions of eternal romance, very few of real life celebrity couples can be remembered for lifelong devotion towards their partners. And, one of the most vibrant and beautiful examples of this is indeed the evergreen couple, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. They have always stayed by each other’s side through the thick and thin of the life. And, theirs is a love story that overcame an age difference of 22 years and is still going strong.
