Heatwave in Karachi leaves hundreds dead


KARACHI: Severe heatwave in Karachi has claimed 500 lives in the last couple of days as the mercury rises upto record 45 degree Celsius , highest in last ten years.

The extensive power outage has caused more miseries to the life of Karachiites as there is no water and electricity in most of the parts of metropolitan city.

The authorities have failed to improve the current situation in the city and people are helpless in this hottest weather and even in the holy month of ramadan.

rainPakistan Meteorological Department has said that in the next 24 hours pre-monsoon rains are expected in whole Sindh that will bring down the temperature.

As per the latest reports, few areas of Karachi has received the light showers but heatwave persists in the rest of the city as rain did not affect the weather much.
