Heavy Rain Turns ‘Paris’ Into Venice


(Latest News LAHORE): Heavy rain that poured down in the provincial capital of Punjab today has turned the city into a Venice like place instead of ‘Paris’ as it is called in ruler’s book.

The streets and even main roads have turned into lakes not only causing difficulty in the daily life routine but also has put a question mark against the ‘claims of good governance’ of Punjab Government.

The areas in which construction work is underway are presenting worse condition and due to this 15-hours long rain spell, 122 feeders of WAPDA got tripped that cut off power supply to several areas of Lahore.

According to the reports, 5 people got injured due to roof of a building collapse in Raiwand area.

As per met office report, 74 mm rain has been recorded in the city up till now and this spell will continue for the next 24 hours. Only at Lahore International Airport, 100 mm rain has been recorded and it continues after certain intervals.
