History in Making: Women to vote Ist Time in Saudia Arabia


RIYADH: For the first time in the history of Saudi Arabia, women will use their right to vote in elections that are going to be held in December.

Besides voting right, Saudi Women have also been given the right become a part of political system as they can contest the elections too.

Four years ago the official announcement in this regard was made by King Abdullah in 2011 and now by implementation, it’s going to create history.

The registration of women votes have been started and the ladies are taking part in this process themselves with a remarkable enthusiasm.

In a country like Saudi Arabia that is still considered a conservative society where women have limited rights, this step is being considered as a milestone among the locals.
