History Made: COAS Sentenced Two Retired Generals On NLC Corruption Scandal


RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has set a new precedent by punishing two retired army officers who were found guilty in National Logistics Scandal (NLC) Corruption Scandal.

According to ISPR, Public Accounts Committee had asked to then Army Chief to take action against those who did financial malpractices in NLC upon which General Raheel Sharif had ordered a quick inquiry of this case.

As the corruption charges leveled on two Pak Army officers Maj. General (retd) Khalid Zaheer Akhtar, and Lt. General Afzal Muzaffar proved true, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel has sentenced them under the army act.

Maj. General (retd) Khalid Zaheer Akhtar has been expelled from the job and all his perks, pension and the medals have been taken back by Pakistan Army.

However, Lt. General (retd) Khalid Munir was not found guilty and has been cleared from the charges now.
