I had lost 75% of my liver: Amitabh Bachchan

None of us can think that the superstar and veteran of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan would have been suffering from Hepatitis B. The evergreen star is surviving on just 25pc of his liver.

The Shahanshah of Indian industry told regarding his illness through a media conference on the syndrome and exposed that he had missed 75pc of his liver to the virus. He stated that “Hepatitis B arrived at me by chance. After my accident on the sets of Coolie, I was infused with the blood of about 200 donors and 60 bottles of blood were injected into my system.”

He reminded that one of his givers was having the virus which in round got moved to him. He said that “One of my blood donors was carrying Hepatitis B virus which went into my system. I continued to function normally till year 2000 and almost 18 years after the accident, during a very normal medical checkup, I was told that my liver was infected and I had lost 75pc of my liver.”

“So, if I am positioned here at present, you are seeing a human being who is existing with 25 percent of the liver. That is the terrible part. The excellent part is you can stay alive even with 12%. But no one desires to get to that stage,” he further stated.

The megastar valued the medical services in India and promised for them when it arrived at diseases, for example, Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B: “I went through a medical way and throughout my illness, I relied on medical specialists and doctors in my country in spite of having the means to do go abroad, but I had faith in the medical experts and doctors of India. When we took the second option abroad, I found out that anything analysis was controlled to me by Indian was no dissimilar from the foreign ones.”

After the releasing and seeing in the film Piku this year, the luminary is all set for his impending film Wazir which will release in 2016.
