India bars Pakistan diplomats from watching Kolkata game

NEW DELHI: Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit has not been granted permission to watch Pakistan-India World T20 encounter in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens stadium on March 19, Samaa reported.

Pakistani diplomatic staffers in India were also not allowed to watch the game.

The Pakistani High Commissioner had sought permission from the Indian authorities to allow him to watch the high-voltage game in Kolkata.

The Pakistani High Commission said that Indian authorities have not provided any reason for not allowing the diplomatic staff to watch the T20 game between the two neighbouring countries.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Office in Islamabad has summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner on the issue.
