Justice Jawad S Khawaja sworn in as Chief Justice of Pakistan


ISLAMABAD: Senior most judge of Supreme Court Justice Jawad S Khawaja has sworn in as the 23rd Chief Justice of Pakistan today.

Jawad KhawjaThe oath taking ceremony of 23rd Chief Justice of Pakistan took place at in President House and President Mamnoon Hussain took oath from new CJP in Urdu Language.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, COAS Army Chief , all four provincial governors and Supreme Court judges were also present in this ceremony.

Justice Jawad Khawaja has took the charge of Chief Justice for only 24 days after which he will get retire on September 09, 2015. Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali will take command of the higest court of Pakistan then.

Last month, a supreme court bench headed by Justice Jawad Khawaja ordered to implement Urdu Language as compulsory in all government offices, NA, Senate, PM house and Supreme Court.

Ex Chief Justice  Nasirul Mulk completed his tenure as Supreme Court Judge yesterday.
