Bollywood director Kabir Khan who has recently visited Karachi, Pakistan, has now stated that he will not visit Pakistan again.
He was talking in an interview with Indian entertainment portal and it was inquired to the top director that whether he would go again to Pakistan if any opportunity will be given and his reply was as, “That’s not possible. My wife (Mini Mathur) has made it clear I can’t go there.”
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan director was come to Pakistan to attend a marketing conference and he was bounded by protesters repeating the anti-India and pro-Pakistan jingles at the Karachi airport on Wednesday.
Kabir continued by saying that “I don’t think they were interested in reasoning or rationale. It looked like they had come prepared to attack. They knew the time of my departure and were there all prepared for what they had to do,”
Though, Kabir stated that he will not label the entire country as bigoted because of a single episode. He added that “I am not going to get cowed down and be provoked into making a statement against the country. Because the truth is, the common man is just not interested in any violence. I was in Karachi for just one day. And it was all very friendly and hospitable until this incident. It’s just a handful creating a vitiated atmosphere,”
The eminent director as well didn’t state a lot regarding the security officers present at the airport who didn’t take any action against the protesters. He told that “Maybe they were as baffled as I was,” then it was inquired that if it is the time to cut all cultural relations with Pakistan, Kabir replied as, “If we do that we play into the hands of the political miscreants. There were just a handful of troublemakers at the airport.”
