Karachi: JUI-F protest march heads to CM House

KARACHI: The city witnessed severe traffic mess when a protest march of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) headed to Chief Minister from Karachi’s Numaish Chowrangi, Samaa reported Thursday.

However, in the wake of any untoward incident, roads outside the CM House were sealed with containers amid heavy deployment of police.

Roads from Numaish Chowrangi to Sadar were blocked.

The protestors were demanding of the government to send murder case of their slain leader, Khalid Mehmood Soomro, to military court for trial.

The rally is being led by Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro and Maulana Nasir Mehmood Soomro, sons of the slain leader and JUI-F Sindh chapter leaders.

Soomro was assassinated in Sukkur in 2014.

The party was assured by then Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in 2015 that the case will be shifted to army court. – Samaa
