Kisan Package Announced By PM Nawaz Challenged in IHC767 views
(Latest News ISLAMABAD): The Kisan Package announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif just a week ago on 15th September has been challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to the details, a petition has been filed in the IHC by Shahid Orakzai presenting the viewpoint that PM Nawaz announced Kisan Relief Package of 341 billion rupees and to release such huge amount, government should have come up with supplementary budget.
The petitioner states releasing 341 billion rupees without going with supplementary budget is not possible within the framework of Constitution of Pakistan, so the payments under this package should be stopped with immediate effect.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced Kisan Relief Package last week for poor farmers who can avail loans with zero markup and interest under this initiative.
PTI and other political parties are against the timing of this announcement declaring it pre poll rigging because according to them, it is clear violation of code of conduct and an attempt to influence on upcoming Local Body Elections.
Yesterday, Election Commission of Pakistan also took notice of this package and summoned Secretary National Food Security with all details and documents in ECP office.
