LHC dismisses ECP’s Ban on MPs for Running By Polls Campaign279 views
(Latest News LAHORE): Lahore High Court has dismissed the ban imposed by Election Commission of Pakistan on assembly members (MNAs/MPAs) over running election campaign in By Polls.
According to the details, PTI had challenged this ban of ECP in Lahore High Court when its party head Imran Khan was not allowed to run election campaign for candidates in NA-122 and NA-154 By polls and today the verdict came in their favor.
Now Imran Khan and other parliamentarians can participate in election campaign of their candidates in upcoming by polls, but federal /provincial ministers and government officials cannot be part of this.
As per verdict, PMLN’s Hamza Shahbaz can also campaign for his party ticket holders in these by polls.
Right after the verdict announced, PTI Chairman Imran Khan tweeted that he will lead the election campaign in NA-122 now.
