Mah-e-Mir is chosen by the Pakistani Academy Selection Committee to be submitted for Oscar consideration in the ‘Foreign Language Film Award’ category at the 89th Academy Awards.
The eminent Pakistani film Mah-e-Mir, which is directed by Anjum Shahzad and penned by Sarmad Sehbai, archives the life of a juvenile anarchist poet (Fahad Mustafa) who criticizes tradition, goes through the sufferings of love, severance and scarcity, which forces him into insanity, where he finds the 18th century poet Mir Taqi Mir.
In his prosaic voyage, he exemplifies the deep love, ardor and creative madness of the poet. The movie characterizes Fahad Mustafa, Iman Ali, Sanam Saeed, Alyy Khan and Manzar Sehbai.

The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee chose Zinda Bhaag in 2013 as the initial Pakistani movie in more than fifty years to be presented for Oscar consideration in the ‘Foreign Language Film Award’ category, pursued by Dukhtar in 2014 and Moor in 2015.
