Mah-e-Mir‘s is going to release on 6 May



Mah-e-Mir, the most anticipated Anjum Shehzad’s imminent Pakistani movie is finally going to release and yet its trailer is out.

This film is based on the life and works of Urdu poet Mir Taqi Mir. The cast of the movie includes television actors Fahad Mustafa, Sanam Saeed, Iman Ali, Alyy Khan and Mazhar Sehbai.

Mah-e-Mir, which means the promiscuous moon, is a narrative that pursues the effort of a modern poet and draws parallels with occasions in Mir’s life.


His clash with the majestic court, his love with a courtesan, his principles of taking Urdu poetry to the people in the streets and his ultimate insanity beneath a full moon, the entire reveals in his poetry.

Anjum Shehzad, who is the director of the movie, stated in an interview that he had determined to cast Iman for the character of Mehtab in the imminent film later than watching her paper the character of a courtesan easily in the 2011 film Bol.


The movie characterizes Manzar Sehbai as Dr. Kareem, Fahad Mustafa as the front role Jamal, Iman Ali as Mahtab, Sanam Saeed as Naina Kanwal, and Alyy Khan as Nawab Sahab.

The film includes almost five tracks written in the script, which is written by experienced writer and director Sarmad Sehbai. This will be Sarmad Sehbai’s cinematic debut.


The initial trailer for the film was out in mid-2014. Which was produced by Badar Ikram and Khurram Shahzad, the trailer in itself is an illustrated magnum opus?

The director Anjum Shehzad told in a previous interview that had admired the presentation of the whole cast phrasing Iman Ali’s performance in the movie as one to watch out for. He stated that “She has delivered a memorable performance. This will be a landmark film in her career, a movie which shall be appreciated by cinemagoers,”

Mah-e-Mir is scheduled to release on 6 May of this year.
