Manchester City crush Chelsea 3-0 at Etihad Stadium



LONDON: Another miserable week of English Premier League (EPL) ended for Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho, as the defending champions were humiliated by Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

The Portuguese manager suffered from a last week draw of 2-2 at Stamford Bridge against Swansea City and now they have been comprehensively beaten by last year’s Runner’s up in an away game.


On the other hand, City started their EPL 2015-16 campaign brilliantly. They defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-0 at The Hawthrons and now they have beaten the Blues 3-0 at home which gave them a five point advantage on the defending champions in the points table.

Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was brilliant in the first 30 minutes of the game, if it hasn’t been for him City striker Aguero would have scored six goals in his first starting XI apperance for his club this season. The Argentine was denied five times by Begovic, but he couldn’t sustain much longer as Aguero scored the opening goal of the game in the 31st minute of the match.


Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires scored the equalizer in the early minutes of the second-half, but it was called-off because he was off-side according to the line-man. City doubled their lead in the 79th minute of the match, as their inform skipper Vincent Kompany headed another brilliant goal from the corner-kick of David Silva. It was Kompany’s second goal in his second game of this season for his club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s captain John Terry watched the second-half from the bench as he was called-off from the filed by his coach Mourinho for the first time in 177 league games. City’s Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho sealed the game for his club with a thunderous strike in the 85th minute of the match to make it 3-0.
