Manish Paul thinks he is ok if compared with Ali Zafar

Manish Paul, the leading actor of upcoming Bollywood venture Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive, considers that he is ok when a comparison comes to Ali Zafar, the leading actor of Tere Bin Laden.

The TV host-turned-Bollywood actor, who is still figuring his way out in the film industry, stated that “I think I am ok with the comparisons… Ali is not a bad actor to be compared with. He is a good actor, very good singer; he is a star in himself. It will be good if the comparisons happen.”

Manish shared that he believes in diversity and would like to play different roles, “I want to try different roles. I just don’t want to be restricted to comedy. I would love to do an out-and-out romantic film and hardcore serious action film. Let’s see if I get that,”

Though, he also knows that since he’s a newcomer in the entertainment industry, he would not be choosy yet, the imminent comedy flick Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive is his second movie in Bollywood.

Manish further added that “I don’t choose roles; the directors and producers offer me… I am just two films old right now so I can’t be that choosy. Maybe after this if people say, ‘let’s try something different with him’, I’ll be open to it,”

His debuting Bollywood flick was in 2013, Mickey Virus, in which he performed the lead role as a computer geek.

It was inquired that whether he wants to play daily soaps but Manish explained that he is not fit for such roles, but would like to perform in short TV series, for example, the likes of American television series, 24.

Manish further explained that “My creativity does not match with the shows and then that is a problem. I couldn’t get the satisfaction so that’s why I couldn’t do it. So I left it. I was free for a year, sitting at home doing nothing. Then hosting happened and everything clicked.”

He continued by saying that “A show like 24 is awesome, so if more shows are getting made like that, I would love to be a part of it,”

Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive is directed by Abhishek Sharma and Ali Zafar will be seen in a special guest appearance; an item song 6 Pack Abs. The song has been written, composed and sung by him.

The movie is going to release on 19 February.
