Mexico draw’s 0-0 with Bolivia in their Copa America opener

Mexico are living dangerously in the Copa America 2015, as they have drawn their opening match of the competition 0-0 with Bolivia.

El Tri aren’t out of the competition, but one thing is for sure that they have made their campaign difficult after pulling a draw against the weakest team in ‘Group A’ of Copa America.

The match between El Tri and Bolivia was highly criticized by the fans on the social media, but there were a couple good saves by both goalkeepers. The best chance for Bolivia came in the 14th minute of the game when Ricardo Pedriel hit the post and then in the ending minutes of the 1st half Jhasmani Campos fired a thunder-bolt which was brilliantly saved by Mexico’s goalkeeper Jesus Corona.

Group A

The 1st half was surely won by Bolivia, but in the 2nd half Mexico mount the pressure from the 45th to the 90th minute of the game. The best player for El Tri was midfielder Jesus Corona, who possibly missed the best chance for Mexico in the game when he shot wide from the goal in the 49th minute of the game.

Corona created couple of chances in the 2nd half for Mexico, the most convincing one came in the 67th minute of the game when Corona set up substitute striker Raul Jimenez for a header with a cross-ball but he couldn’t finish it.

To finish second in the group Mexico had to win against Bolivia, they will qualify further in the tournament if they finish third but for that they have to beat Ecuador.

Chile is on the top of the ‘Group A’ as they have defeated Ecuador by 2-0 and after watching Mexico’s match against Bolivia they are no where near in the position to beat Chile.
