Pakistan’s Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq signs a new contract with Barbados Tridents for Caribbean Premier League 2015, he will also replace country-mate Shoaib Malik for the remaining games of the event.

The 33-years old Malik has been excluded from the CPL because he has to leave for a national duty in Sri-Lanka, as the all-rounder has been recalled for Pakistan’s five match ODI series against Islanders according to the CPL press release. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to announce their ODI squad for the upcoming series.

In a statement, the CPL director Tom Moody said, ‘Shoaib has been fantastic in the CPL so it’s a shame to lose him, but we’re delighted that he’s back in the Pakistan squad and we wish him every success in the upcoming series.’

He also praised, ‘Misbah is one of the most respected cricketers in the world, and we’re sure he’ll be an excellent addition to the Tridents squad.’
