ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan has to resign over his controversial remarks given against Ex DG ISI Lt. General (retd) Zaheer-ul-Islam in interview to BBC within 24 hours the news surfaced.
PMLN Leader who is in Maldives right now has been ordered to come back to Pakistan by PM Nawaz Sharif and then he will formally tender his resignation to the premier.
Mushahidullah Khan alleged ex DG ISI of plotting a conspiracy against civil and military leadership of the country and said that he wanted to topple PMLN’s government and to take over power. According to his interview to BBC, there is an audio tape in this regard that was played during PM Nawaz meeting with COAS on 28th August.
It is not the first time a PMLN leader remarked against army or ISI, in the recent past same kind of statements have been given by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in a program with senior anchor Kamran Khan and even CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif declared Sit-ins a conspiracy by some retired army generals (ISI). In this case Mushahidullah has been clearly made a ‘scapegoat’ to normalize the situation.
