Gayle, Sammy on board for Pakistan Super League, says Sethi


LAHORE : (Saad Ahmed) West Indies T20 World Cup winning captain Darren Sammy and legendary opening batsman Chris Gayle have shown their interest to be the part of next year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) according to chairman PSL NajamSethi.



Pakistan’s young and talented opening batsman Ahmed Shahzad couldn’t control his excitement on Gayle’s participation and tweeted.



Recently chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan also announced that Pakistan’s former great WasimAkram and former captain Ramiz Raja are the brand ambassadors of the PSL. Great move by PCB as both of these are highly appreciated and very respectful persons in the world of cricket.

From West Indies not only Gayle and Sammy showed their interest, but their hard-hitting all-rounders Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo are in the list of superstars which also includes their spin wizards Sunil Narine and Samuel Badree who will also participate in PSL 2016.

And from Sri-Lanka we have their opening batsman TilakaratneDilshan, their ODI skipper Angelo Mathews, all-rounder ThisaraPerera and off-spinner AjanthaMendis. Grant Elliot, New Zealand’s semi-final hero in the World Cup 2015 against South Africa and Australia Brad Hodge has also shown their availability for the league next year.

The PSL is scheduled to take place at a neutral venue of Doha, Qatar in February 2016. The two time postponed series in 2014 and 2015 has now become one of the most awaited events in the world with some big names involved in it.
