Bollywood youngest leading actress Alia Bhatt is equipped to appear in a de-glam avatar in Udta Punjab.

Whereas the 23-year-old the Kapoor & Sons actress has been highly praised for her acting ability, she has in addition confronted repercussion for stereotyping Biharis in the imminent movie in which other Bollywood top actors like Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are working.

Though, Alia continues blatantly by the criticism she gets for her work. The daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan stated that “I believe that with positive there has to be negative. If there is no negative then it’s very boring and that means that you’re a boring person. If everybody likes you it means that you are super boring,”

The actress, who first seemed on screen as a child artist in a minor role in the thriller Sangharsh, added that “There has to be somebody who does not like you. I am very happy that there are people who don’t like me. I am even happier when I convert the dislikes to likes,”

Alia also continued by saying that she doesn’t get distrustful regarding her work. She was quoting in an interview that “Well when it comes to my work, I don’t get defensive about criticism that comes my way. If it is something that will hurt me then it will hurt me, but I won’t get defensive about it. I’ll never say that you’re wrong; I’ll say… okay, I have messed up. Of course, I will sulk for 15 minutes, but then I will be up and about again.”

Udta Punjab is an Indian crime drama movie co-written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. It is based on drug abuse in the Indian state of Punjab. The film will release in the theaters on 17 June.
