Pakistanis stranded in Russia return home


ISLAMABAD: Efforts finally bore fruit as most of Pakistanis stranded at Moscow airport returned home on Friday.
According to our correspondent, a group of 42 Pakistanis, most of them businessmen, landed at Karachi airport through a private airline and 30 others at Islamabad airport this morning.

Officials said remaining 34 Pakistanis are likely to return today at Lahore airport.

Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalil confirmed that the Pakistanis stranded in Moscow have been repatriated from Russia.

“We are still awaiting details as to what happened and why these Pakistanis are being repatriated… We are going to take up this issue with the Russian Embassy in Islamabad,” he said while replying to a question at a daily briefing in Islamabad.
