PCB may appoint an interim coach: Shaharyar Khan527 views
Shaharyar Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated that the board may assign an interim coach if require to be as the board persists to evaluate nominees for the head coach post.
Shaharyar has stated that not anyone has been chosen still, regardless of particular rumors setting onward some favorites for the role.
He added that “We can put in an interim coach for time being so that’s not a big issue,” when it was inquired that who will lead the training camp planned in May for Pakistan’s trip to England in June.
Rashid is thought for chief selector position
The PCB is eager to incorporate ex-captain Rashid Latif for the empty chief selector post.
Rashid had formerly admitted the role two years before but had afterward refused it as he was discontented with the intrusion of then Director Game Development Haroon Rasheed.
The PCB desired to select Mohsin Khan as the chief selector but he refused the role, whereas Shaharyar is not eager on getting back Moin Khan.
Iqbal Qasim as well came out as a powerful candidate but the board desires to transport in someone who is fresh but also has widespread acquaintance of players in domestic cricket.
A PCB official stated that “The PCB is keen to bring in someone new but a lot would depend on him accepting the position,” it was further added, “The board wants to use the expertise of people like Rashid and Inzamamul Haq.”
‘Government intervention not acceptable’
A decree was passed in the board’s Annual General Meeting of the board telling that government intervention in the inside affairs of PCB was not satisfactory.
Whereas Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is the board’s supporter, the board says that government intervention infringes the PCB’s structure, which is authorized and accepted by both the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the International Cricket Council.
