ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former captain and iconic batsman Javed Miandad said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should maintain their zero tolerance policy against corruption and don’t recall Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt.
While talking to the media, Pakistan’s former opening batsman Mindad said that according to his opinion it will be a very wrong move to recall those three because they cheated their country and damaged the reputation of Pakistan.
Miandad, who was Director General PCB from 2009 to 2014 said that they are criminals because they had left Pakistan’s millions of cricket loving fans heartbroken. He further said that several renowned footballers and other sportsperson have vanished from the world because they cheated their nation, their medals and trophies has been taken back and today nobody knows them.
Miandad added that he knows that they have served a five year-ban, but if he would have been PCB’s head than he would give a clear-cut message to those three players that we don’t have any kind of place for them in the team.
He also said that in our religion these are shameful acts, Islam doesn’t teaches us that. How could you allow such players to represent their country once again ? Miandad concluded while saying that it is total injustice in my opinion with those players who will be replace by these three.
