PCB’s Spotlight on Amir in National T20 Cup160 views
ISLAMABAD: According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) national selectors will be eyeing Mohammad Amir’s performance in the upcoming National Twenty20 Cup.
The National T20 Cup will be played at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, the qualifying round will be held from 1st to 5th September and the main round will start from 8th September and end on 15th September.
While talking to the media, an official from Rawalpindi region said that Amir who was banned from international cricket for five years is all set to make his return in international cricket as his ban ends in September.
He further said that the national team needs Amir as they are struggling in the bowling department, his inclusion in the national team will improve our bowling standards. The official also said that the PCB will be monitoring Amir’s performance in the National T20 Cup and he might be back in international cricket soon.
Amir will represent Rawalpindi Rams in the upcoming tournament, as the region will also monitor his performance. He added that we have full confidence of the pacer, as he will make it into the national squad before the end of this year.
The official concluded that 16 teams will participate in the tournament, providing the chance to the selectors to witness performance of all the players. The selectors will keep an eye on several young players as well as some senior players who are participating in the tournament.
