ISLAMABAD: PMLN senator Mushahidullah Khan has accused that Ex DG ISI Lt. General (retd) Zaheerul Islam conspired to take over the power corridors of the country during the last years’ sit-ins of PTI and PAT.
According to Mushahidullah, Intelligence Bureau (IB) had taped phone calls of Zaheer ul Islam Abbasi during the sit-ins, in which he was directing how to create anarchy type situation during these Dharna of PTI, PAT and take over the Prime Minister House.
The revelation disclosed on 14th August (Independence Day) right after one year of the Azadi / Inqilab March kicked off by PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
PMLN leader also claimed that in a meeting of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and PM Nawaz on 28th August during Sit-ins, this audio tape was played in front of Zaheer-ul-Islam who was called by COAS. DG ISI admitted that it was his voice and then General Raheel said him to leave the meeting.
Mushahidullah also claimed that Lt. General (retd) Zaheer-ul-Islam not only wanted to topple PMLN’s government but also against the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
However, ISPR has said categorically denied that this story is totally baseless and farthest from truth.
