Priyanka’s role in Baywatch, initially was for man

Priyanka Chopra is currently busy for her debut in Hollywood movie, the reboot of hit 90s TV series Baywatch, and she has now revealed that the role she will play in the movie was initially set to be played by a man.

Priyanka shared the interesting news in an interview regarding her role in the imminent movie, telling that “The role was initially written for a man and they were talking to me for another part.”

The ex-Miss World persuaded the filmmaker and he made a decision to alter the gender of the character. She shared that “After the director met me, they thought I would be better as a villain and then they changed the character to that of a female,”

Priyanka has been offered a character in the film edition of famous 90s TV show and will be seen alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. She will perform the character of a villain Victoria Deeds in the imminent film.

The Bollywood actress will be seen taking on the Rock and his squad in the Seth Gordon directorial. She further added that “It was really exciting that they changed the role for me. You have to be a very strong character to take on ‘The Rock’ and the entire lifeguard squad. They will be six whereas I am alone. It looked very cool to me,”

The Bajirao Mastani leading actress has already played negative roles in Bollywood movies, for example, Aitraaz and 7 Khoon Maaf, and she didn’t hesitate to take on the same avatar once again. She continued by saying that “It is so much fun to play a negative character because you have the liberty to go out of your comfort zone and do anything. Victoria is a very mean character,”

It is confirmed that this year the actress will show her tough side as she will also be seen taking on the role of a cop in Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal, which is scheduled to release on 4 March.
